Huambo — The coordinator of "Uhayele" project of Non-Governmental Organisation (AMOSMID) Sérgio Zanetta Wednesday in central Huambo province voiced positive the implementation of the first phase of the programme, aimed at promoting the first health cares in the rural communities.
The physician who was speaking during the closing of activities related to the first phase of the implementation said that from June 2007 to January 2008, the "Uhayele" project (meaning health, in vernacular Umbundu language), trained in districts of Caála and Bailundo, at least 367 local health experts and 39 supervisors.
"The trainees have been conducting lectures on basic sanitation, current diseases, garbage collecting campaign, construction of latrines, pre-natal control, vaccination and paying attention to the pregnant women", stressed the official.
On the occasion, the provincial health director of Huambo, Elias Finde, revealed that this is the government's intention to involve the population in the solution of the health problems affecting the rural communities.
The Uhayele project is carried out in partnership with Huambo government, since June 2007, to generate synergies with actions and programmes developed through the department of health, of private partners and organisations of cooperation.
