Angola's Catholic and Portugal's Coimbra Universities will hold on August 07-08 here an international conference under the theme Civil and Political Society in Angola, Regional and International Integration", Angop has learnt.

A press note delivered to Angop states that the meeting is part of the Angolan transitional process towards democracy, started in the "90s, in which many hope were entrusted to the called civil society.

"The conference aims at stimulating a huge reflection and debate towards matters relating to civil society potential for the country's social and economic development", adds the document.

Prior to the gathering, there will be released a book dubbed Political and Civil Society in Angola; International and Regional Context, authored by Nuno Vidal and Justino Pinto de Andrade.

The first international conference of its kind was held in 2004 in Luanda.
