Nigeria: TRADO Medical Doctors Urged to Support Govt On Healthcare

Gombe — Association of Traditional Medicine Practitioners in Gombe state has been urged to unite and work towards complementing government's efforts in health care delivery services in the state.

State Commissioner for Health, Dr. Mohammed Isa Umar made the call while addressing the new officials of the association under the Chairmanship of Dr. Idris Sarkin Baka, Gombe .

According to the Commissioner, who was represented at the occasion by the Director of Planning, Research and Statistics of the Ministry, Mr. Yarima Danzaria, the continued support and co-operation to the Ministry would help in complementing the state government's efforts in health care delivery services.

He advised them to continue to conduct themselves in a manner that would gain the confidence of the general public as that is what they need to continue their services to humanity.

Speaking at the occasion, the National Co-ordinator of the Nigerian Traditional Medicine Practitioners, Dr. Umaru Nange pointed out that since the formation of the association in the country, no government has assisted the association, except Gombe state government, urging members to move along with the government for the progress of the association.

The Director, Administration and Finance of Gombe State Board of Traditional Medicine Practitioners, Mallam Dauda Mohammed Doho said the Board was established to oversee the affairs of the traditional medicine practitioners in the state.
