America For Africa F.C has emerged the most convincing football squad in the North West division two league. The team which harbours rare football talents qualified for the MTN Elite II national league with an overwhelming 7-2 victory at the finals of the provincial league against Mankon united F.C. The final was a rare show of ability against enthusiasm with the America for Africa side demonstrating rare football scoring skills at the Mankon Municipal stadium.
The journey to success started with America For Africa F.C topping the charts in pool A of the league with 18 points which involved Kumbo Strikers, Bamenda F.C and Nkwen F.C. They went on to quality for the finals of a mini tournament, crossing the best sides of both pools A and B. The three year old team checked the ambitions of all opponents at that stage with a 3-0 aggregate score against Nkwen F.C at the semis.
To show for strength, include lead strikers, Ndi Kingsley, Takwi Emmanuel, Yunyun Theodore, Ayafor and Ngeh Emmanuel who emerged the sharpest shooter of the league with 13 goals. Folabit Bobga alias 'Folabo' and old horses in the game like Nji Sunday and Joseph Agwa take credit with valuable technical assistance while Boyo Charles, the Administrator on- the- spot gives the squad the right atmosphere to turn full circle.
Come what may, the challenge of elite football now stares the team on the face while it is expected that management will give the team chance with the required reinforcement to meet the realities of playing more competitive football with teams across the country. Soppo Ngwa, the America- based President General of America for Africa F.C told Cameroon Tribune that the initiative to create the team in February 2006 was inspired by the urge to fight poverty and diseases in Africa through football.
To hear Soppo Ngwa "America For Africa F.C was created to give local players chance to change their lives. It is an academy for poor and talented players with an environment that trains and prepares them to shine and progress".
