Botswana international Abednico Powell is training with First Division Coastal Stream side Vasco Da Gama. The lanky central midfielder has been there since Monday and has apparently made an impression.

The 25-year-old, who plays for Extension Gunners in the Botswana Mascom Premier League, helped Ecco City Greens, an unfashionable Francistown club, win the league last season before Gunners snatched his signature in January this year.

Powell is being touted across the border as the next Mogogi Gabonamong and Vasco's coach Carlos das Neves is expected to sign the player before the end of the week.

Vasco are also currently assessing former Bafana Bafana internationals Siyabonga Siphika and Carlo Scott.
