President Ellen Johnson Sirleaf Tuesday said farewell to Madam Sarah McIntosh, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Kingdom of Great Britain to Liberia.
Ambassador McIntosh, who recently ended her tour of duty to Liberia, was lauded by the Liberian leader for her pivotal role in strengthening relations between Monrovia and London. The President also praised the British government for its efforts in supporting Liberia's quest towards national reconstruction and renewal. The President recalled her recent official visit to Great Britain, noting that bilateral talks with British Prime Minister Gordon Brown and other officials were fruitful.
For her part, Ambassador McIntosh praised the President for her leadership in turning Liberia from a conflict-ridden nation to a post-conflict success story. Ambassador McIntosh renewed her government's continuous commitment toward the Johnson Sirleaf Administration's development agenda.
Also present at the brief farewell ceremony was Mrs. Olubanke King-Akerele, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Dean of the Cabinet.
