Eritrea: Rural Electrification Program Being Stepped Up in Segeneiti Sub-Zone

Segeneiti — The installation of electricity lines in 11 villages of Segeneiti sub-zone has been finalized, according to Mr. Abraham Hagos, Administrator of the sub-zone. He indicated that Hebo, Maiha, Berakit Abai and other villages have already become beneficiaries of power supply.

The project involves putting in place over 1,000 poles, the distribution of about 80,000-meter long electricity lines with high and low voltage, as well as the installation of 15 transformers along with the necessary accessories.

Mr. Abraham commended the local inhabitants who supported the project through extending financial assistance and employing their labor.

In line with the rural electrification program, the inhabitants of Hebo, Akrur, Digsa, Ewanet, Degra-Libie, Berakit, Adi-Hadid, Adi-Kuta and Halay would get access to electricity.
