Like the popular scripture- "Many are called but few are chosen", so did it happen at the MTN Academy House, when 14 Housemates were chosen out of the 40 contestants.
As many as 5,000 footballers from across the country entered the competition after going through several tests in endurance, skill, personality and cooper among others.
Before the Master of Ceremonies, Eddy Blay Jnr., announced the names of the final 14 Housemates, anxiety had taken the better part of the contestants in the well organised outdooring ceremony at Ridge, in Accra.
Samuel Abaka breathed a sigh of relief when his name was mentioned as the first of the 14, and with applause from his fans he picked the number 14, and then received documents signed by his manager and Optimum Media Prime (OMP). Joe Essel Ferguson (9), Michael Gatoh (11), Isaac Agyapong (12), Augustine Frimpong (8) and Benjamin Owusu (6) followed in that order. The rest were Enoch Aryee (5), Stephen Sowu (2), Awal Amadu (10), Philip Amoako (13), Raphael Dugabtey, (7)- son of ex-national soccer star Ebenezer Dugbatey, David Abaka (1), Emmanuel Mensah (4) and light skinned Hassan Karoum (3).
The 14 Housemates will be inducted into the academy house this Saturday and will battle for supremacy for the ultimate. The CEO of Metro TV congratulated those who made it to the house and urged those who failed to make the mark not to be daunted but remain focused in their quest to make it to the top in their soccer careers.
