Mauritius: b.p. 247- The Ramas' cinema

Ahmad Macky

14 August 2008

Port Louis — This is happening and can only happen in Mauritius, which is fast becoming the laughing stock of the whole world. The two Ramas, namely Valayden and Sithanen, are insulting the intelligence of this population and humiliating the Prime Minister (PM), Navin Ramgoolam. The two Ramas, for reasons best known to them, are making it clear to the world that the PM is very weak and cannot proceed and manage without their support (...).

One was walking around with his letter of resignation in his pocket and addressed to the Deputy Prime Minister, the other one, a lawyer by profession and Attorney-General in the present government drafted his letter of resignation addressed to the PM.

This is very shocking for these two "honourable" gentlemen as they should know that if they really meant to resign, the letter should have been addressed to the President of the Republic of Mauritius and not to the PM or to a "transfuge". Are they taking the population to be stupid and illiterate or are they taking a "nisha" by openly humiliating the PM, depicting him as an impotent PM (...).

I challenge Rama Valayden to redraft his letter of resignation and addresse it to the President of the Republic of Mauritius and hand it over personally to him (...).

Please "honourable" gentlemen don't take Mauritians to be MTC (Mauritian Toujours Couy ). Believe you me, Mauritians are becoming intelligent day by day in politics and they can vote with their hands as well as with their feet. So make no mistake about that. So "pas pran nou pou couy "
