Sierra Leone's only boxer at the ongoing Olympic Games, Saidu P. Kargbo has said he lost to Polish opponent, Maszczyk Lukasz yesterday because of his immaturity and lack of preparation.
Kargbo which engaged Lukasz in the men's light fly (48kg), lost the four round challenge in the third round at 1:32 minute after the referee stopped the contest for further punishment (RSC).
Kargbo said he never prepared well for the competition as his call-up to represent the country at the Games came as a surprise.
"I have stopped training after we received news that Sierra Leone has no qualified athlete for the Games and will only be represented by two athletes," Kargbo said adding that the Polish was a matured boxer.
The 24-year old Polish who defended from the red corner in the bout, won the three rounds in full 5:0; 5:0 and 3:0 without Bangura gaining a point.
The 50 kg weight and 5' 5" tall Polish Lukasz, qualified for the Games in Italy and he is a record holder in the 2007 world champion in Chicago , USA and the 2005 champion in Debrecen, Hungary.
Kargbo on the hand is a wide cat and also a Zone II gold medalist.
