Namacunde — Thirty heads of bovine cattle, which were stolen in the outskirts of the Angola-Namibia common border, were on Tuesday handed over to Namibian authorities by the personnel of the National Police's district command in Namacunde locality, southern Cunene province.
According to the district commander of the National Police superintendent Jo ã o Hitiwa "Kiluanje", the animals were caught near the border between both countries, in Nepolo locality, an action that ended up with the arrest of the thieves.
The animals were stolen in the neighbouring Republic of Namibia and last Tuesday they were officially handed back after the imprisonment of the thieves in the Angolan territory, the officer stressed.
The superintendent said that similar police actions will continue in order to discourage cattle theft.
On his turn, the commander of Oshikango Border Police in Namibia, Frances Nanbianga expressed his satisfaction at the cooperation of the Angolan National Police.
