Asmara — Eritrea Festival in Western Canada was conducted in Edmonton city from August 7 to 10 with patriotic zeal. More than 1,500 Eritrean citizens from the Western Canadian cities of Winnipeg, Regina, Saskatoon, Edmonton, Calgary, Vancouver, Victoria and others participated in the Festival.

Different programs including sports competition, cultural show and arts exhibition, among others featured in the 4-day event. The Eritrean Ambassador to Canada, Mr. Ahferom Berhane, gave briefings to the participants on the objective situation in the Homeland and the national development drive.

He indicated that major achievements are being registered in development programs being undertaken through the coordinated efforts of the people and members of the Defense Force. Mr. Ahferom called on Eritrean nationals residing in Western Canada to enhance their contribution in national development endeavors.
