Former Under-23 coach Charles Bassey says that if the Dream Team can stay consistent with the kind of performance that saw them dispatch Ivory Coast on Saturday, the gold medal will be theirs.
Dream Team IV were imperious in their discipline as they made short work of t heir West African rivals, and Bassey says he could find little fault with the display.
"The team played better than the other matches," he said. "With Saturday's standard, the gold medal belongs to Nigeria."
He also had words of praise for goalkeeper Ambrose Vanzekin, whose errors in the two previous games had gifted goals to the opposition.
"I am happy Vanzekin was cautious in that match. I congratulate Siasia and others for the job so far. However, I believe he still has a little work to do in midfield," Bassey said, warning the lads not to take Belgium for granted in the semifinal.
