Angola: Building of Social Houses Starts This Month

12 August 2008

Luanda — At least 100 social houses for needy young people will be built in Luanda from this month, in an action of the Angolan Government, announced the provincial director of Youth and Sports, Ant ã nio Rosa.

The official, who was speaking on the sidelines of a meeting with young people of the country's capital city, added that the residences will be located in the districts of Viana and Kilamba Kiaxi and the first 30 homes will be ready by next December.

"The Ministry of Youth and Sports has given us a deadline for the building of the first 100 houses for young people in need of houses", he said.

Part of the "Angola Jovem Programa" this move foresees the building of 2,000 social residences all over the country and the starting point was kicked off in April in the northern Uije province.
