Mendefera — Members of the NUEW branch in the UK have taken the initiative to build an office and women's training center in Mendefera town.

The Ground +1 project worth over 20-million Nakfa to be constructed through Debwin Construction Company includes an assembly hall, office, training center and other rooms for different services.

Representatives of the NUEW branch in Britain have already visited the project site. The chairperson of the branch office, Ms. Jim'a Mohammed Omar, indicated that that the initiative is in line with the contribution of members of the branch office towards tackling the problems of Eritrean women compatriots. She also called on Eritrean nationals residing abroad to enhance their participation in the nation-building process.

The head of NUEW branch in the Southern region, Ms. Weini Negash, expressed appreciation to the initiative and called on other Eritrean women in the Diaspora to emulate the gesture.
