Ghana: Rajevac to Brief Media Today

18 August 2008

Milovan Rajevac will officially be unveiled as Ghana coach at 14h00 (GMT) today at a press conference at which he is also expected to outline how he hopes to take the Black Stars to the 2010 World Cup.

The Serbian has agreed a two-year deal worth just over a million dollars to handle the Black Stars and arrived in Accra on Friday determined to make the most of it.

He landed in Accra barely 24 hours after he had led his club side Borak to a Uefa Cup win over Locomotive Sofia and has been in talks with officials of Ghana Football Association sorting out some of the fine details of his contract.

The Serbian has already been on the charm offensive declaring on arrival at the Kotoka International Airport his admiration for Ghana football and how he is determined to do good.

"I am very happy to be in Ghana," he said in his passable English. "It is a beautiful country. Now Ghana is my country, Black Stars is my team and I am ready to work and do good."

His press conference will certainly bring out much more than the brief comment he made on arrival with his lack of national team experience and knowledge of Ghana football certain to be some of the main talking points at what should be a heavily attended event.
