Former Thanda Royal Zulu defender James Sangala has turned down a number of offers from First Division clubs because, he says, he wants to play in the Premier Soccer League (PSL) or in Europe this season.

"I have three offers from First Division clubs, but I am still weighing my options because I want to play in the PSL," he says.

"I don't want to rush into making a decision because there could be more good offers. There are some people who are looking for opportunities for me in Europe and Asia, so anything can happen."

Sangala says he is still in good shape for the Malawian national team despite being unattached to any club at the moment and is very eager to line up for the Flames against Djibouti and DR Congo.

This dispels fear by the Flames coach Kinnah Phiri that the player, who has been included in the 28-man squad, might not be fit for the two remaining African Nations qualifiers.

"I am very ready to play for the national team in the remaining two fixtures although I don't have a club at the moment," Sangala told the Malawian Press.

"I had no problems turning out for the Flames in the Cosafa Senior Challenge Cup last month and that was some weeks after parting ways with Thanda."

Thanda put Sangala on the transfer list in June to accommodate the signing of two more foreigners at the club because the PSL quota system only provides for five foreigners per club.

Sangala opted to buy out the remaining two years of his contract and says he was paid six months salary plus a percentage of his signing-on fee which, he added, was a good package.
