Top hotels and guest houses which formed the Hotel and Entertainment Center Federation Association (HECFA) have again decided to take a hard stance against the Sierra Leone Football Association for unpaid bills.
This is the second time HECFA would be taking such a decision this year.
Vice President of HECFA, Mohamed Umar Jalloh, said the SLFA owes members of the group between Le 130 million and Le 140 million adding that unless these bills are settled, their decision will not be reversed.
"It is a decision taken by the entire membership and we do not expect anyone to go against it. We'll reverse the decision when the bills are settled," Jalloh told Concord Sports.
According to Jalloh, who owns Hill Valley Hotel, appeals from the government and the Deputy Minister of Education, Youths and Sports, Algasimu Jah, made them to reverse their previous decision.
"The minister told us after the Nigeria and South Africa match that all outstanding dues will be settled but they are yet to be paid. This time around, we'll not chase anyone to pay us. We'll go by our decision." However, executive members of the SLFA failed to comment on this development.
If this decision stands, Leone Stars and other visiting national teams may have nowhere to stay in Freetown unless the dispute is settled.
This could disrupt Leone Stars' preparation for the return leg match of the 2010 World Cup and Nations Cup qualifiers against Equatorial Guinea and the U-17 return leg encounter against The Gambia.
