Mr. Filipatali said his organization had been working closely with Mt. Meru Hospital management because most of the students from his organization do their field work at the hospital. Medical students from the United Kingdom have been doing their practicals at Mt. Meru Hospital, Meru District Hospital, St. Elizabeth, St. Thomas, AICC Hospital and SDA Hospital located at Njiro. Other at Kaloleni, Levolosi and Ngarenaro Health centers.
The UK organization donates hospital materials to various hospitals according their needs.
"Having a well-organized work placement is crucial, but it isn't the only thing that most students want from their elective or summer placement. Our programmes are also about the social experience, traveling off the beaten track, getting involved in community work and perhaps most importantly - having fun," said Mr. Filipatali.
Speaking to the press, the Regional Medical Officer (RMO) Dr. Salash Toure said the donation from the Work The World would increase the number of beds in the hospital wards and thus step up its capacity to admit more inpatients.
He thanked the organization not only for the donation of the beddings but also for bringing in the young health workers for field experience who work hard to improve services wherever they are placed.
