Luanda — The presentation and sale of the latest album of Angolan veteran musician Barceló de Carvalho "Bonga", entitled "Bairro" Neighbourhood), last Sunday in Atlântico Cinema, in Luanda, was marked by a massive presence of fans and music lovers, who flocked to the venue to buy the CD and get an autograph from the artist.
ANGOP learnt at the spot that from 08:00 am to 01:00 pm, more than 2,500 copies, out of the 5000 available, had been sold.
The singer manifested his delight at the huge presence of fans, children, youths, adults and elders.
According to the singer, the album "Bairro", with fourteen tracks, portrays the Marçal neighbourhood, in Luanda, a place where he grew up and fought against colonial oppression.
Barceló de Carvalho "Bonga" was born on September 05, 1942, in Kipiri District, northern Bengo Province.
He has several albums released, with highlight to Angola 72 (1972), Angola 74 (1974), Paz em Angola (1991), O melhor de Bonga (The Best- 2001), Kaxexe (2003), Maiorais (2005), among others.
