Asmara — Eritrean citizens living in the Diaspora donated 4.4 million Nakfa in support of 822 needy families of fallen heroes in 12 sub-zones of the Southern region.
The head of the Ministry of Labor and Human Welfare branch office in the region, Mr. Yohannes Tesfai, indicated that this amount of assistance covering a 2-year period is in line with the support being extended by the Government and the people. He also stated that the nationals who take the initiative have personally visited the respective families of martyrs.
Expressing appreciation to the gesture, the beneficiaries said that the initiative attests to the Eritrean people's noble values of mutual cooperation.
