Kampala — PARENTS and guardians of Budo Junior School have been urged to raise money to rebuild the school.
On April 20, fire gutted two dormitories, killing 20 pupils. The cause of the inferno is not yet known.
The headmaster, Tom Kasule, urged parents to join hands to revive the school's glory.
"Let us all work together for a better Budo and avoid verbal allocation of responsibilities and pointing fingers at each other," Kasule said during a thanksgiving service on Thursday.
He added that the number of pupils had dramatically increased from 500 to 914 since the school re-opened on June 10.
The school will on September 27 conduct a charity walk to raise funds for renovating classrooms and dormitories.
The executive director of Mission for All of Namirembe Cathedral, James Sabaggala, donated four fire extinguishers to the school.
The pupils The New vision interviewed said they were happy with the security at the school. They sang and danced for their parents at the meeting.
