Popularly known by her admirers as Mama Mimi, Dr. Chinyere Precious Eze, a naturopath by profession, had tremendous love for natural medicine while growing up. This love grew out of understudying of her grand father who was a renowned natural medicine practitioner in Igbo land.
The naturopath who describes herself as a woman called by God to bring sunshine to people through natural medicine speaks to Good Health Weekly on her numerous breakthroughs in natural medicine. Excerpts:
"Initially, it was just a profession I inherited from my grand father. He was a renowned natural medical practitioner in Ibo land. I was like a protégée to him when he was alive. I used to follow him to the bush to source for herbs. Then I watched him handle seemingly hopeless situations.
There was this case of a woman who was barren for 21 years. When they came to my grandfather, my childish mind told me it was a hopeless situation, but to my amazement I watched my father turn it around. The funny part was that I was a participant to the whole thing.
He took me to the bush where we got the herbs, and then he insisted the husband of the woman must take part in the whole process. He prepared herbs for both of them, and told them to take it religiously for one month. The woman took in later, and delivered a set of twins. Not only, that case, I watched my grand father handle cases of fibroid, low sperm count, impotence and other ailment.
All this happened in my formative years, and I made up my mind then to follow in my grand father's footstep. Since then I have done more studies, and research on natural medicine. Above all I sensed mine is a divine call from God to bring sunshine to people that have health challenges.
Before my grand father's death, he called me and prayed for me. He specifically told me to continue in his profession, that I would record breakthroughs. But then, I felt it was just a hobby, but I was steadfast. Later I found out that to me it was no longer just a hobby, I felt the pain and anguish of my patients, and in feeling that anguish, I immerse myself into looking for a solution.
Most times I pray to God to give me direction. I travel as far as Mali and other African countries to source for herbs. It was at this point that I discovered that God has a hand in what I am doing, that I am called to bring sunshine to those in the darkness of illness, diseases and other health challenges. And this feeling gave birth to Mama Mimi Nature Clinic.
I am Mama Mimi in the Nature Clinic is about herbs, nothing else. It is just natural, what God created for our use. Most of these ailments come from our abuse of nature. When you eat what you're not supposed to eat, when you don't eat what you're supposed to eat, you have problems, and you must go back to nature to correct it.
