Eritrea: Kindergarten Inaugurated in Abashawul Administrative Area

Asmara — A new kindergarten has been inaugurated in Abashawul administrative area here in Asmara under the sponsorship of the German association "Children for Tomorrow."

Speaking at the inauguration ceremony, the Minister of Education, Mr. Semere Russom, noted that the project would play a significant role in promoting the development of the education sector in general and the residents of the area in particular. He also expressed appreciation to the initiative taken by the chairperson of the association, Ms. Stefanie Graf. Commending members of Segen Construction Company who were actively engaged in the undertaking, Mr. Semere called on the residents of the area to make good use of the newly constructed facility.

The chairperson of "Children for Tomorrow" association, Ms. Stefanie Graf, lauded the Eritrean government's efforts to promote educational opportunities for children. She stated that she was highly impressed with the cherished values of the Eritrean people, including the existing harmony and mutual cooperation rarely witnessed in other countries.

The vice chairman of the Association, Mr. Fischer, on his part indicated that there are plans to construct similar kindergartens in Adi-Keih and Massawa. He also expressed appreciation to the support extended by the Eritrean government.

The representatives of the residents commended the association for taking the initiative. The Minister of Education, Mr. Semere Russom, the Administrator of the Central region, Mr. Tewolde Kelati, and the chairperson of "Children for Tomorrow," Ms. Stefanie Graf, planted tree seedlings within the premises of the new kindergarten.

"Children for Tomorrow" is a privately-owned German association established in 1998 by Ms. Stefanie Graf who was one of the renowned champions of table tennis.
