Ghana: NDC Accuses Appiah Ofori, Police of Violence, But PC Denies Charge

Cape Coast — The Asikuma-Odoben-Brakwa (AOB) youth wing of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) has accused the New Patriotic Party (NPP) Member of Parliament (MP) for the area, Hon P.C. Appiah Ofori and the Chief Inspector of Police at the Odoben police station, Chief Inspector Alex O Forson of inciting acts of intimidation, violence, brutality and harassment which has recently characterized political activities in the constituency.

In a press release signed by the NDC Youth Organizer of the area, Mr. Adom Botchway, it accused Appiah Ofori of conniving with Chief Inspector Forson to intimidate and harass NDC supporters in the area without any provocation. The release claimed that the reason behind the attacks on the NDC supporters in the area was because the NPP and the MP for the area had lost touch with the people.
