Tanzanian teenager Ibrahim Shabani cruised into this year's singles final of the International Tennis Federation's (ITF) backed championship to meet Sudanese Nouredin Yahya at the Dar es Salaam Gymkhana Club courts today.
Shabani sent packing Iradukunda Guy from Burundi 6-2, 6-4 in a semi final match played late in the afternoon, yesterday.
The singles preliminary results are as follows: Mtwari Ted (Burundi) beat Msafiri Salum (Tz) 6-2,6-1;Abou Hamis (Tz) beat Ugandan Aganile Richard 6-3, 6-2; Ntatangwa Robin (Burundi) beat Hamkimu Mtwari (Rwanda) 7-6, 1-6, 6-2; Yonas Gebere (Ethiopia) beat Tanzanian Kesi Ibrahim 6-2,6-0;
Ken Nganji (Kenya) beat John Njau (Tz) 6-0, 6-2;Kenyan Kibet Ibrahim beat Sudanese Mohamed Mansur 7-6, 6-2, Hafidh Hamis beat Ayesiga Henry (Ugandan) 6-1,6-1,
Iradukunda Guy (Burundi beat Tanzanian Tumaini Martin 6-3, 3-6, 6-4; Billy Makoi beat Brown Junior 6-3, 6-0, Ssesazi Simon (Uganda) beat Tanzanian Abdallah Mohamed 6-3,6-1,Ethiopian Feseha Berhamu beat Kenyan Mwambu Mbuyi 6-2;6-2
