The Minister Federal Capital Territory, Dr. Aliyu Modibbo Umar, has re-constituted the FCT Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Board in order to ensure a smooth 2008 Hajj operation for the FCT contingent in Saudi Arabia.

The re-constituted Board has Major-General Abdullahi Bagudu Mamman (Retd.) as Chairman, while Dr. Shuaibu Kurfi will serve as Secretary.

Other members of the Board are; Alhaji Ahidjo Bamanga, Alhaji Bashir Umar, Rt. Hon. Tanko Ibrahim Jalam, Sheik Musa Alaofe and Alhaji Haliru Buhari.

The minister remarked that the FCT Administration decided to re-constitute the Board to inject new ideas that would aggressively improve on the welfare services to the FCT contingent to the holy pilgrimage in Makkah/Medinah, Saudi Arabia.

Modibbo expressed optimism that the wealth of experience of the appointed members of the Board would add value to the service delivery of the board.

He charged the members to work assiduously to justify the confidence reposed in them to ensure for the pilgrims a memorable experience.

The minister reiterated the FCT Administration's high premium on the quality of welfare services being rendered to FCT residents, either at home or abroad, and advised the board members to ensure that the pilgrims do not get less.
