Luanda — A message from the President of Guinea-Bissau, João Bernardo Vieira, for his Angolan counterpart, José Eduardo dos Santos, was handed Wednesday in Luanda to the Angolan Premier.
The Angolan Prime Minister, Fernando da Piedade Dias dos Santos, received the message during an audience he granted to the Guinean president's special envoy, Manuel Nunes.
Speaking to the press, Manuel Nunes confirmed that he delivered the message of the Guinean Head of State during the audience that served to discuss matters connected with the co-operation between the two countries.
He also said that the relations between Angola and Guinea-Bissau are the best possible and that it was in the framework of the existing bilateral co-operation that he brought a message for the Angolan Head of State.
The two interlocutors also exchanged information on the latest developments of the political situation in Guinea-Bissau, which was considered more stable now.
"The situation in Guinea-Bissau is now more calm, there is more stability, and the tendency is for more improvement", stressed the Guinean official.
In the first week of the current month Guinea-Bissau was facing a political crisis, following a failed coup attempt.
