Kickoff (Cape Town)
21 August 2008
The Premier Soccer League (PSL) has announced that the First Division will kick off next week Saturday.
According to PSL media officer Altaaf Kazi the fixtures for the First division league have already been drafted
and are expected to be released before this weekend.
The league played without a sponsor last season after the withdrawal of Mvelaphanda, but Kazi has promised some good news for clubs in both the Inland and Coastal Streams in terms of sponsorship this season.
"I cannot reveal the name of the company, but our negotiations with the potential sponsor are now at an advanced stage.
"We have already drafted the fixtures and will be releasing it to the media soon."
Kazi, however, failed to shed light on the fate of the PSL reserve league which was disbanded last season.
"It has been under discussion but nothing concrete has been finalised in terms of whether it will continue this season or not."
