The GFA Disciplinary Committee's (DC) ruling in favour of RTU has stirred Zaytuna United FC to file an appeal against the DC's decision.
Zaytuna filed a protest against RTU for fielding an unqualified player, Kwame Adzagba, in their last premier league decider at the Sunyani Coronation Park.
And at its sitting last Monday, the DC ruled against the plaintiff, suggesting that Zaytuna joins Real Sportive and Great Olympics to relegation.
For Zaytuna, the said player is of a Togolese nationality and could not have featured in the said match as a Ghanaian, knowing that he required an ITC, residence and work permits. A statement signed by Oloboi Commodore, Director of Operations, Zaytuna, has noted.
"The decision of the GFA Disciplinary Committee was that once the player, Kwame Adzagba holds a Ghanaian passport, he does not require a resident permit and his registration under GFA/FIFA regulations is proper and valid," the release added.
The statement indicated that "Zaytuna United is dissatisfied with the decision and has appealed on the grounds that the player in question is of Togolese nationality without dispute, cannot play as a Ghanaian without the proper process of naturalization, and that his registration with RTU is inconsistent with FIFA/GFA rules and statues."
