22 August 2008

Huambo — Two cars recently offered to journalists of the central Huambo Province by the Social Communication minister, Manuel Rabelais, were this Friday handed over to the beneficiaries, by the provincial head of the local media department, Joaquim Neves António.

The minister's offer was announced during the meeting held last Monday with journalists and administrative workers of the social communication sector, a gesture that aims at encouraging the professionals, said Manuel Rabelais.

The beneficiaries of the cars are journalists of the Angolan Public Television (TPA) and Angola Press Agency (ANGOP).

The beneficiaries expressed their satisfaction and they were unanimous in stating that this offer will boost their performance and bring more dynamism to their activity.

The government official carried out on 18-20 August a work visit to Huambo Province, having expressed his satisfaction at the operational levels of the media public organs.

On the other hand, the managing board of ANGOP started granting motorbikes to their district correspondents in Huambo Province, so as to improve their performance.
