Kampala — PEACE Muyege stood out with 68 nett as Western clung onto their day one lead to capture a fourth straight Kampala Casino/Tusker Inter-regional golf tournament at Kitante yesterday.
Western fired 2997 nett, beating off East region's late charge.
Eastern that were third on day one for the first time in over five years, came close to winning the tournament that has eluded them since its inception.
Eastern that fielded a largely young team had Brian Mwesigwa (h/c 3) as their best player yesterday at 68 nett.
Northern captain John Waigo was left dumb-founded as his team returned home empty-handed for the fourth year running.
"We had reorganised the team but things still didn't go our way. We shall be back with a bang next year," Waigo remarked.
