Angola: Luanda Governor Donates Musical, Sports Material to Promaica

Luanda — The governor of Luanda province, Francisca do Espírito Santo on Saturday handed over to the Promotion of Angolan Women in the Catholic Church (Promaica) material for literacy and creation of cooperatives, sports equipment, musical instruments and library books.

For the creation of cooperatives, the governor offered four stoves, sugar, baking flour and milk, whilst for the sewing and fashion firm she offered machines and material for the start of the undertaking.

According to the official, the musical instruments (guitars, pianos, batteries, drums and trumpets), as well as sports equipment and library books were offered for women to find a way of occupying their children during spare times by learning music and practicing sports.

Speaking to various women attending the ceremony, the governor affirmed that the She considered that the meeting with Catholic females aimed at learning on the situation of registration and education of children of ladies affiliated to Promaica.

Francisca do Espírito Santo also promised to expand the micro-credit programme to Promaica so as to facilitate the creation of small firms and reduce poverty, since, according to her, sustainable development can be achieved with the creation of these cooperatives.

The governor of Luanda met with Catholic women at the Espírito Santo Church, Prenda commune, district of Maianga, with the wim of increasing cooperation relations for the develoment of Luanda city.
