Kadoma — MOSES Chunga got off to a fine start as head coach at Gunners when he guided the side to a win over Division One side Savannah Eagles in an exciting CBZ FA Cup first round game at Rimuka yesterday.
The first half was a tale of missed chances but the Premiership side were more precise in the second half.
Francis Chandida (59th minute), Ovidy Karuru (86th minute) and Ramson Zhuwawo (88th minute) scored for the visitors who showed the gulf between Division One and Premiership football.
Chunga said he read the riot act on his players during half-time.
"In the first half we played well but wasted so many chances to score.
"I realised that there was a lot of complacency on the players and I told them to get the goals in the second half.
"During the pep talk, I demanded a positive approach and not the negative approach they had shown to the game.
"Those were my key words and they changed in the second half and I am happy," said Chunga.
Savannah Eagles coach Maxerson Kalonga was disappointed with the result but happy with his team's show.
"We were the underdogs in the game and we tried our best.
"I am disappointed to lose but I am happy with the performance.
"Gunners are more experienced and I wish them the best in the next round," he said.
