The Namibian Under-19 rugby side yesterday left for Tunis, Tunisia, to compete in the Confederation of African Cup (CAR) tournament in that country.
The tournament is currently underway.
The team was due to leave earlier in the week, but could not do so due to financial difficulties.
On Wednesday, Mobile Telecommunications Limited (MTC) came to the rescue of the youngsters by extending a hefty N$350 000 sponsorship to make the trip possible.
MTC spokesman Albertus Aochamub said with the re-establishment of relationship with the Namibia Rugby Union, "we pledge our continued involvement to ensure that Namibia continues to thrive on the international sporting arena.
