Two men, Samuel Njie Ngomba and Lolah Konyuy, both residents of Bobende Quarters in Limbe, have pleaded not guilty to charges of "witchcraft" brought against them before the Limbe Court.
Ngomba and Konyuy, who appeared before Magistrate Hannah Egbe of the Limbe Magistrate Court on Wednesday, August 20, were dragged to court by Simon Ndelley Molonge, Sarah Limunga and one Henry Kum Geh of the Ocean City Radio.
In arraigning the duo, the court read out a four-count charge against them. In count two, Ngomba and Konyuy are said to have sometime in March this year, carried out some witchcraft practice liable to cause harm to one Simon Ndelley and punishable under Section 251 of the Penal Code.
As to how the said witchcraft was executed, the third Prosecution Witness, PW, Henry Kum Geh, told The Post that Ngomba in connivance with Konyuy, is alleged to have planted some voodoo objects on a piece of land that lies between the residence of Ngomba, the accused, and Ndelley, the complainant.
It is for fear of the harm that such fetishes could possibly cause to the public and to the above-named complainants that the matter was brought to court for a legal redress.
It was thus on September 17, that the Limbe Court would proceed to hear the matter and subsequently determine the harm the said voodoo objects had on the complainants or could have had on them and the public.
