Ghana: Off They Go Again!

The Onetouch premier league champions, Kumasi Asante Kotoko, will on Sunday cross swords with Kpando Heart of Lions at the Baba Yara stadium, as the Glo-Top four tournament kicks off. The other combatants, Dansoman based Liberty Professionals and Berekum Arsenals will square off at the Ohene Djan stadium in Accra.

This year's competition will be an improvement on the previous ones, by way of its organization.

Unlike the previous competitions which was played in a home and away league system, with the team that recorded the highest points tally emerging the winner, this years will, however, see the first two teams battling for the ultimate in the grand finale.

Of the four competitors, Kotoko's engagement in this year's CAF Confederation competition places them in good stead over the other participants.

Lions, Liberty and Arsenals have, however, embarked on their own preparatory exercises, throwing the competition open for the combatants.

The Kotoko and Arsenals game is expected to churn out fireworks as a result of the recent rivalry that seem to exist between them.

Games between the two have has often been fought on hard lines and Sunday's is expected to follow a similar fashion. With goal poacher Eric Bekoe spearheading Kotoko's attack, with assistance from burly striker Kwabena Yaro and skipper Emmanuel Osei Kuffuor, Kotoko seem the favourites as they will also enjoy home advantage from their fanatic supporters.

The story at the Ohene Djan Stadium, where the second best team in the just ended Onetouch premier league- Lions, will face Liberty Professionals, and an action packed encounter is promised from both teams who play end-to-end football. In the camp of the two teams will be on display, an array of skilful charges.
