Ghana: France Based Philanthropist Donates to Tomo-Ni Orphanage

The Ghanaian Queen mother of France, Nana Yaa Owusua, has presented a number of items including toiletries, soft drinks, food items etc to the Tomo-Ni orphanage at Kwahu Obomeng in the Kwahu south district of the Eastern Region.

Speaking at the function, Nana Owusua urged the children to be obedient to their care takers and teachers as well as the elderly if they are to become responsible adults in future.

According to her, she had wanted to donate a lot of items to the children but for the strike that hit marine industry in France some months now.

She however promised to donate more items in the near future since the welfare of the children was at her heart.

She thanked a number of Ghanaians in France who have been assisting her to always donate to the children and other underprivileged in society.

She mention some of them as the Ghanaian chief in France, Nana Osei Kwame, her husband Thomas Akyeampong, the first Ghanaian to reside in Marseille in France, Clement Asiko, Nana Agyeman, the Abusua panin and many others.

The Obomeng Krontihene who attended the function, Nana Kissi Gyimah II, advised the children not to let their current situation deter them but should strive to make their mark in life and national development.

The mother of the donor, Madam Adwoa Asantewaa, commended her daughter for taking upon herself to cater for the orphans and urged her and other helpers to continue the good gesture. She also urged the children to see their situation as a challenge.

Receiving the items, the father of the home, Benjamin Amankwah, commended the donor for her continuous support to the home. He said, the home lacked a lot of things such as food, clothing, transportation, first aid medicine etc to meet the daily needs of the children.
