Ndalatando — The chief justice of the Supreme Court (TS), Cristiano André, Monday visited the branches of the Penitentiary, located in Ndalatando city, northern Kwanza Norte province, with a view to assess the functioning level of the local prison services.
During the assessing process, which is being carried out in the light of his two-day visit to the northern province, TS chief justice learnt on the jail situation and was briefed on the main difficulties facing inmates.
The top magistrate also learned on the rehabilitation works of Ndalatando prison, in the framework of the provincial government project, to improve the institution's condition and ensure major commodity and dignity for the prisoners.
He also called on prisoners for positive behaviour, in order to enable a proper reinsertion after the effective fulfilment of their terms.
Cristiano André, who is expected back to Luanda on Tuesday, will also assess the Court and the District Attorney's Office of Cambambe, 65km off Ndalatando city.
