The Chief Executive Officer and Director of Unilever Plc, Mr. Charles Coffie, was over the weekend awarded the highest CIMG award, marketing man of the year 2007 at the 19th national marketing performance award winners.
The Chief Executive Officer of the Ghana Chamber of Mines, Mrs. Joyce Aryee was also adjudged the marketing woman of the year. Both took home beautifully designed plaques, a fully connected blackberry phone and a modem from Mobile Telecommunications Network (MTN), a GH¢50,000.00 accident insurance policy from Consolidated Discount House (CDH) Insurance and a weekend for two at any of the Coconut Groove Hotels in the country.
The Marketing Student of the year award went to Gakpetor Atsu Gbedevi who is an Acting Assistant Administrator in charge of field work, Tema Scripture Union.
Other awardees included Coca-Cola Classic (Product of the year), Aquasplash (Emerging Brand of the year), HFC Bank Ghana Limited's retire early-relax advert (outdoor advert of the year).
One Touch's Grace Ashie advert won the print advert of the year, while MTN-Samini's advert won the TV advert of the year, Radio advert of the year went to One Touch's conference call, with Kokrokoo on Peace FM winning the Radio programme of the year award.
Masem on TV3 won the TV programme of the year with Brand Activation programme of the year going to Guinness (Tales of Greatness). SOS children's villages in Ghana won Not for-profit organization of the year award whilst ICT Company of the year went to Intercom Programme and Manufacturing Company (IPMC).
Marketing Oriented Organisation of the year also went to MTN (Scancom) with Vanguard Insurance Company Limited picking the Insurance Company of the year award.
The rest are Emirates (Airline company of the year), Fiesta Royale Hotel (Hospitality of the year), Tropical Cable and Conductor (Manufacturing Company of the year), Ghana Oil Company Limited (Petroleum Company of the year), Metro TV (Media Organisation of the year), Silver Star Auto Company (Motor firm of the year), Ecobank (Bank of the year), Ghana Nuts Limited, Techiman (Agro-based company of the year) and Ashanti Home Touch winning Indigenous catering facility of the year.
Three institutions that have won three consecutive awards and have been recognized internationally were inducted into the CIMG Hall of Fame. The three are Toyota Ghana Company Limited (Motor firm category), Melcom Ghana Limited (Retail outlet category) and SIC (Insurance company category).
