Gambia: Paedophile Faces Charges

A Norwegian tourist, Anthony Michael Dobson, recently arrested by personnel of the Gambia Police Force, has been reportedly charged, the Daily Observer can reveal.

Police spokesperson, ASP Sulayman Secka told the Daily Observer that the 61-year old has been charged with defilement of a girl under the age of 16 years contrary to Section 127 of the Criminal Code Cap 10, Volume III, Laws of The Gambia 1990 and for child pornography, contrary to Section 8(i)(a) of the Tourism Offences Act 2003.

For his 29-year old accomplice Mustapha Drammeh, the police spokesperson said he was charged for procuring [sic] a girl for sex, contrary to Section 7(a) of the Tourism Offences Act 2003.

He disclosed that the accused persons will be put on trial at the Brikama Magistrates Court to answer to the charges slammed on them.

Anthony Michael Dobson was arrested on August 17 by the police of the Yundum Police Station, at his Yundum Yarambamba residence in Kombo South, Western Region, where he was alleged to have carried out child pornography activities.
