The Manager of the Black Stars and Zamalek's striker Junior Manuel Agogo, Mr. Ernest Okudzeto, has stated that the striker's first goal for the Egyptian side on Sunday was a foretaste of good things to happen for the striker .

Speaking to The Chronicle Sports on telephone yesterday, Mr Okudzeto blamed the player's inactivity since joining the club, to an injury he sustained during their Champions League tie against city rivals Al-Ahly.

"Junior is recuperating at a fast pace, from a left knee ligament, but he is taking his time to warm himself into the team," said Agogo's manager.

He added that the team's physiotherapist, Mustafa El-Munairi, had declared Agogo fit to feature regularly in subsequent games, saying, "This is good news, since the Egyptians have waited for long, anticipating seeing their newly-signed striker do what he knows best."

According to his manager, Agogo's full engagements in the Ghana 2008 matches, as well as the World/Nations Cup qualifiers, took an adverse effect on him, rendering him ineffective after signing for Zamalek.

Mr Okudzeto, however, revealed that after going through a successful rehabilitation exercise, Agogo now looks organised, and his winning goal against Masri, last Sunday, attests to that fact.

"He looks well composed now. He is extremely happy with his current progress with the team, and we are expecting to see more of those in future games," said Mr. Okudzeto.

The 29-year-old striker joined Zamalek this season, after a three year stint with English side, Nottingham Forrest

Zamalek are now second in the league table, with seven points after three rounds of matches, just two points behind league leaders, Petrojet.

He is Black Stars' current leading striker, and he finished the Ghana 2008 tourney as the leading goal scorer for Ghana.

Already, he has hit the back of the net three times in the ongoing World/Nations Cup qualifiers, scoring one against the Greens of Libya at the Baba Yara Stadium, and twice against Lesotho, in South Africa.
