Right To Play (RTP) an international non-governmental organization yesterday donated 10 addidas footballs to the national U-17 team, Sierra Stars at a ceremony held at their headquarter in Freetown.
Presenting the footballs to the Administrative Secretary of Sierra Leone Football Association (SLFA) Abu Bakr Kabba aka Sweet Kay, RTP country manager, Dr. Prince Cummings said they decided to help after they learnt that the team lacked footballs to train.
"When we heard that the U-17 team was without football to train, we at RTP felt very bad and decided to help," he said.
Cummings wished the team success ahead of their match against The baby Scorpions of Gambia in weekend for the 8th edition of U-17 championship qualifiers.
RTP communication Officer, Mohamed Sankoh said the donation of the balls to the U-17 was to show the organization's commitment to sporting activities.
"The donation will help in the development of sports," Sankoh said, adding that it was not the first time such donation was being done.
He said similar donation was recently made to the Ministry of Education Youth and Sports.
Receiving the balls on behalf of the team, Sweet Kay said the donation will go a long way with the team's preparation and promised that the footballs will be used for its intended purpose.
