Nigeria: Anichebe Proud of Olympic Experience

28 August 2008

Victor Anichebe says his experience playing for Nigeria at the Olympic Games has done him a lot of good.

Anichebe told Everton TV that the reality of his success with Nigeria is just beginning to set in.

"I am so proud to win the medal. We were within touching distance of the gold but it's a huge achievement just getting a medal.

"It was an unbelievable achievement and a once in a lifetime opportunity."

The 20-year-old met some big names in the Olympic village, but was also able to keep in touch with developments at Everton.

He revealed; "I met Maradona and Ronaldinho, which I never would have expected.

"I am happy to be back now - I've been away since May. I've been speaking to Vaughany (James Vaughan) and Lukas (Jutkiewicz) and they've been letting me know how things have been going."
