South Africa: Vodacom, Celtic Renew Three-Year Deal

27 August 2008

Bloemfontein Celtic has received a major morale boost ahead of their Absa Premiership league game against Mamelodi Sundowns at Vodacom Park on Sunday after renewing their sponsorship with Vodacom.

Celtic CEO Ike Augousti has confirmed to KickOff.com that they have extended their relationship with Vodacom for a further three years.

Augousti said the figures of the sponsorship will remain confidential to both parties.

"We are grateful for the contribution made by Vodacom to Bloemfontein Celtic over the past three years and now they have come back to us again to make another commitment of being our main sponsors for another three years.

"The kind sponsorship deal that has been made by Vodacom this time will take Bloemfontein Celtic to a higher level, both on and off the field".

The Vodacom logo will appear on the Bloemfontein Celtic players' kit and branding around the field at the club's home matches in the PSL.

Vodacom will also promote their association with the club in their match day programmes and publications as well as on the club's vehicles.

In announcing the continuation of Vodacom's sponsorship, Executive Director, Commercial, Romeo Kumalo said, "In continuing our partnership as title sponsor of Bloemfontein Celtic, Vodacom is re-affirming its belief and commitment to soccer in our country".

"As the Greatest Supporter of South African Soccer, we are proud of our association with a club of the calibre of Bloemfontein Celtic Football Club and we look forward to joining the club's supporters in sharing many moments of spectacular soccer and glory in the years ahead," said Kumalo.

Meanwhile, Celtic manager Khumbulani Konco has assured Siwelele that the team will be back in their slaughter house at Seisa Ramabodu Stadium soon after the venue was closed for renovation.

The PSL has allowed Celtic to use Vodacom Park Stadium for their home fixture against Mamelodi Sundowns on Sunday, but Konco has been quick to assure fans that Seisa Ramabodu Stadium will be ready for their Absa Premiership home fixture against Maritzburg United on September 8.
