Kigali — Remera Buffaloes will have to wait until September before they can lay hands on their first ever national rugby league trophy.

Buffaloes, who have only dropped points against arch-rivals and defending champions Gorillas this season, recorded their fifth win of the season last weekend after earning default points from league minors Simba.

The win left the Remera outfits and Gorillas level on points (21) but the former have one game in hand (Kaduha Tigers), a game they cannot avoid to loss as far as their chances of winning their maiden league title is concerned.

Meanwhile, last Sunday's ties (Tigers v Lion de Fers and Sharks v Puma) were rescheduled to August 31.

According to Janvier Ugeziwe, the federation's secretary general, the two games were called off to pave way for the East Africa Secondary schools' championships which commenced last Sunday.
