Super Falcons assistant coach, Ann Chiejine says the strikers in the team did not perform and not the whole of the team.
Chiejine told Brilafm website that the team did well but the strikers did not score or else they would have qualified for the quarter finals.
"The players really tried their best and I know they wanted to win. It could have been better for us, but for the fact that our strikers could not convert the chances that came their way," she admitted.
She dismissed the theory that inferiority complex was the problem of her team in Beijing, but argued that they are no strangers to the Olympic Games.
"I know that teams like Germany, USA and Brazil cannot intimidate Nigeria. We were not scared of them, but it was only that we made many mistakes during our matches and that affected our chances of winning," she stated.
