Cameroonian midfielder Bienvenu Tipa says he is at peace with his situation of having to be de-registered at Bidvest Wits to make space for new foreign players while he awaits his permanent residence papers.
Though still under contract at Wits, Tipa has been de-registered and will only be eligible to play after he is granted permanent residence since he meets the minimal five-year requirement.
I will have to wait about three months before I am eligible to be registered Bienvenu Tipa
Tipa has been in the country since 2003, first signing up with Vasco da Gama before moving to Bloemfontein Celtic and then Wits at the beginning of last season.
"I understand the situation that I am in at the moment because management has been honest with me in explaining everything. It is just that the situation arose a bit late, but management has been doing their best and I am still part of the club. Though the feeling of not playing is never a happy one, I am at peace because I respect management for their support.
"The club has been busy applying for a permanent residence for me. I've been in South Africa for the past five years and so have been told that my application can be put through.
"I will have to wait about three months before I am eligible to be registered; then I can start fighting for my place in the team again," says Tipa.
The 29 year-old, who has previously played in Tunisia, says he is still training with the rest of the squad.
Wits have signed five new foreign players, Zambian midfielder Clifford Mulenga, Zimbabwean keeper Energy Murambadoro and the Brazilian trio of David de Olivieria, Andrey Almeida Ricardo and Fabrigio Rodrigues which fill their foreign quota.
Four other foreigners, Zambian Noah Chivuta, Almiro Lobo of Mozambique and the Brazilian pair of Marcos 'Pepe' de Jesus and Danilo Julio, have since left the club.
