Bidvest Wits coach Roger De Sa has hailed his players for their good performance during their Absa Premiership opening fixture against Santos at Bidvest Stadium last night.
The Students beat the People's Team 2-0, courtesy of goals from former Winners' Park striker Phikolethu Spelman and midfielder Marawaan Bantam, thus placing the Clever Boys on top of the league table.
De Sa says their victory against Santos last night has given him hope that the team is heading in the right direction to achieve great success this season.
"This was a good performance from my players, especially as for many of them it was the first time they were playing in the Premier League."
De Sa also added that their main objective this season was to finish in a respectable position in the league.
"We are going to take one game at a time and try to collect as many points as possible. We are not going to put pressure on ourselves by setting unrealistic goals."
The former Bafana Bafana goalkeeper has also promised that the three Brazilian players Fabricio Rodrigues, Andrey Almeida and David de Oliveira, who were signed during the off season, will be available for selection when they play Orlando Pirates in their next game at Coca Cola Park on September 13.
"The issue of work permits has delayed matters, but I am hoping that by tomorrow everything will be sorted out."
