The 2010 Fifa World Cup Organising Committee South Africa (OC) has accepted the resignation of the OC's Chief Competitions Officer Dennis Mumble, who has resigned due to personal reasons.
"It is with deep regret that we have accepted Dennis Mumble's resignation. Dennis is a bright, intelligent football administrator with whom I have personally worked since 1990. He submitted his letter of resignation, citing personal reasons, and we will respect his wishes," says Danny Jordaan, the OC's Chief Executive Officer.
"He has made a tremendous contribution to the Organising Committee and we continue to have the highest regard for his ability.
"We wish him well in his future endeavors and hope that he may still be an asset to the 2010 Fifa World Cup Organising Committee in future."
Mumble worked as a Fifa General Co-Ordinator at the 2006 FIFA World Cup and in various senior positions in South African football administration for many years.
Jordaan said the OC was looking for a replacement and hoped to fill the position shortly.
